Meet Jessica
Child and Family Music Therapy was founded by Jessica Nagel-Nnebedum, MA, MT-BC in 2019.
Jessica grew up in Kansas City, Missouri where she experienced first-hand the power of music as a source of comfort.
In 2006 Jessica moved to Minneapolis to pursue a degree in music therapy at the University of Minnesota. She completed an internship at Reuben Lindh Family Services/The Family Partnership and then worked as a board-certified music therapist at Fraser Academy, a K-5 charter school with children with ASD for 4 years. Jessica returned to the University of Minnesota in 2015 to obtain a Master’s in Music Therapy, while there she researched ways that music therapy may meet developmental and mental health goals among limited-resource families. Jessica has published research in Voices: A World Forum for Music Therapy and presented research at AMTA National Conference and GLR Regional Conference.
Jessica focuses on working in the community primarily with homeless and highly mobile families. She aims to provide a compassionate, individualized experience for her clients through evidence based practice, using structure music interventions to give voice and provide an outlet while working towards non-music goals.
